Plans for Expanded Impact
As God enables, we are praying to expand the impact of His Heart Song in four ways:
- We envision colleges utilizing the talents of their oration, orchestra, and coral departments to present His Heart Song for the general public in their community. Though the narrative could be acted out, it also works well simply as a dramatic reading involving many voices. Additional information about music and script use can be found under Permissions.
- We hope to have audio CDs of His Heart Song available in the near future. If you would like a copy feel free to contact us.
- We envision live, dramatic presentations with a unique approach.
The audio recording of His Heart Song is a condensed version of a 2 hour 20 minute presentation which uses Scripture verbatim for all the narratives. It involves having an off-stage narrator while characters on-stage do the dialogue; allowing listeners to hear the authoritative Scriptures while seeing a dramatic portrayal of the action unfold. We believe this is the best way to present His Heart Song for the greatest impact. In addition, all the songs are sung by people who are offstage – not characters in the scene. The songs are like mediators between the historical and the present-day listener. The narrative and drama portray the historical record of Jesus’ life; the songs teach other scriptural truths and give time for listeners to pause and reflect on “What does this narrative mean for me today?”
We envision this presentation being held in a home-base area of the U.S. not currently served by a high-quality dramatic presentation of Christ’s life. We also see the possibility of taking the presentation on the road to towns in surrounding states. If you have resources, contacts, or connections that could make either of these a reality, please contact us.
- Other Languages – Narrative could be translated while songs are left in English, or both might be translated. If you have resources, contacts, or connections that could make this a reality, please contact us.
