Plans for Expanded Impact
As God enables, we are praying that the saving good news of Christ through His Heart Song might impact more lives in two ways:
- We envision colleges utilizing the talents of their oration, orchestra, and coral departments to present His Heart Song for the general public in their community. Though the narrative could be acted out, it also works well simply as a dramatic reading involving many voices. Additional information about music and script use can be found under Permissions. (Larger congregations or Christian high schools may also be able to make such a presentation.)
- We envision live, dramatic presentations in an outdoor setting with a simple set; the goal is not a huge production but a presentation done with excellence and focused on God’s Word. The 80 minute audio recording of His Heart Song is a condensed version of a 2 hour 20 minute presentation which uses Scripture verbatim for all the narratives. Our vision for the presentation is to have an off-stage voice narrate the full story while characters on-stage do the dialogue; allowing listeners to hear the authoritative Scriptures while seeing a dramatic portrayal of the action unfold. Except for the final song, all songs were written to be sung from offstage (without the singers being seen) while the drama of the story continues on stage at a quiet volume. The chart below lists the drama happening on stage while each song is sung. Listening to the songs with this in mind, can help you see how the songs enhance the power of the drama. The songs are like mediators between the historical and the present-day listener. The narrative and drama portray the historical record of Jesus’ life; the songs teach related truths and give time for listeners to pause and reflect: “What does this narrative mean for me? Our favored plan for making the above happen is to present His Heart Song to the general public, while also enhancing the lives and skills of the presenters. We are praying that God will open the doors for us to establish, in a tourism area close to a main highway, a summer “Career Camp” where college students majoring in the performing arts, will have opportunity to be coached by top-notch instructors to grow in their skills – as well as personally and spiritually – and at the same time be the cast members to present His Heart Song to the general public in an open-amphitheater setting on the camp grounds. Our prayer is that all the cast members, as well as all who come attend the presentation, will gain a greater understanding of Christ’s saving life and be inspired to consider how His life has gained true eternal life for all, including them.
We have a business plan for bringing together the above vision — which also includes utilizing many volunteers, modeling some other ministries that have done so with great success. If you have resources, contacts, or connections that could help make this vision a reality, please contact us.
Some Songs are short in length given the anticipated action while sung.
We wrote the Songs with many kinds of Listeners in Mind.
